Sorrows Away

Sorrows Away is a Tampa Bay, Florida-based folk trio that has had extensive experience in various types of performance. Marte Kinlaw and Cindi Smith spent several years performing with the four-part vocal harmony group Faire Falderal, and also have performed for The Caledonian Society, The Bay Area Renaissance Festival, and various other local venues, as solo, duet and group performers.

Ruth Keyes has performed locally for over thirteen years, both in various venues with her own theatre company, as well as with various other theatre and music groups throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough county. She is also a professional storyteller.

Ruth writes many of the original songs performed by the group, and is also a member of the Ally Smith Band.

Members of Sorrows Away have performed (singly and together) at events in Florida, Georgia and Michigan, including the Florida Folk Festival (with the Ally Smith Band) and have performed locally with other Florida-based folk musicians and singers. They are looking forward to performing in the 2003 Pinellas Folk Festival, as well as the 2003 Will McLean Festival.
